The Hinged Memory Locks on this stand ensure your pedal is always set to the same height. Because it doesn't have a third leg, this stand takes up a minimal amount of space leaving more room for a double bass drum pedal or mic stands, for instance. The 5500TD comes with two rods in two sizes: 15 and 21 inches. If you want your hi-hats high, use the 21-inch version, and if you want them low, when using them with a cajon for example, then use the 15-inch rod. The SM379 Locking Clutch enables you to tighten the bottom screw so the top hi-hat cymbal won't come loose while playing.
